Were Are Ya Walking
What does it mean to truly walk in the light? That question sits at the heart of this powerful exploration of 1 John, and the answer cuts far deeper than we might expect. The message draws us into a stark contrast between light and darkness, not merely as physical realities, but as spiritual conditions that shape the entire direction of our lives. God is described as pure light, with absolutely no darkness in him at all, and that truth becomes the measuring stick for everything else. We are invited to ask ourselves honestly: where are we walking? Are we stepping into the light of genuine fellowship with God, or are we hiding in the shadows, letting pride, fear, or false beliefs keep us stuck? Three dangerous patterns are identified that keep us trapped in darkness: denying the power of sin, denying the presence of sin in our own lives, and denying that sin is something we actively struggle with. Each of these denials is a form of self-deception, and John pulls no punches in calling that out. The good news, though, is that the path into the light is real and accessible. We are called to admit we are sinners, to trust that Jesus is our advocate before the Father, and to rest in the truth that he has already paid the full price for our failures. This is not a message of condemnation but of profound liberation, an invitation to stop hiding and let God do what only he can do.
